CAUTION: Before you begin the following procedure, see the safety instructions in the Product Information Guide.
NOTICE: To avoid electrostatic discharge, ground yourself by using a wrist grounding strap or by periodically touching an unpainted metal surface (such as the back panel) on the computer.
NOTICE: To help prevent damage to the system board, remove the main battery (see Before Working Inside Your Computer) before working inside the computer.
NOTE: This computer may have either one or two system fans, depending on the video configuration. If the video memory is integrated on the system board rather than on a separate video card/thermal-cooling assembly, the computer has only one fanthe processor fan. The processor fan is the larger fan, and the smaller fan (if present) is for the video card/thermal-cooling assembly (if installed).
Remove the two M2.5 x 5-mm screws from the fan(s), and then disconnect the connector(s) that
connect the fan(s) to the system board.
Lift the fan(s) out of the computer.
