If you have the system invoice, you can determine which sound card was shipped in your system. For details on how to read your invoice, refer to the Dell KB Article: "How to Read the Invoice for a Dell™ Computer" Article ID: 131652.

When you have determined the sound card or integrated chipset, you can then choose the appropriate install guide in the table below.

» Identify the Sound Card Using System Information

Alternatively, you can identify your sound card by referring to System Information in your computer:

Click Start and then click Run.
In the Run window, type the following text in the Open: text box:

msinfo32.exe
Click OK.
In the System Information window, under the System Summary menu on the left, click the plus sign (+) next to Components.
In the list of installed components, click to select Sound Device. The sound card is listed in the right-hand pane next to Name.

» Identify the Sound Card by Looking at the Rear of the Dimension 2400

The sound card is located at the back of the tower. The Creative Sound Blaster Live! is located toward the bottom, along with other PCI cards, if any. The ADI 198x Integrated Audio is next to the USB ports in the center. (Figure 1)
